Out load, I thought to myself…”Why do people innately open up to me? I can know them for a day, and know their life story including details they wonder themselves as to why they told me. Daily I am told things in confidence but why is such confidence found in me? My mother was the one to most accurately answer this flabbergasting question. She said that it is because I do not judge. After she said this, I thought for a moment and realized the truth behind the revelation. I may make judgmental calls about something, but never do I judge a person based on decisions they have made. Why is this? It is because I have been judged my whole existence on this earth. Being an obese child who doesn’t act or think the same due to brain surgery that was literally mind altering, I was very different. It is that difference that has made me an easy person to confide in. She also went on to say that people can sense that I will keep whatever was said between us and there alone because I have been betrayed more than one should ever experience. Again, due to this, I have become the optimal person to confide in and I will keep it between us.
On a side note: I am also a good secret keeper because I have no short term memory. I will likely forget whatever you told me by the next morning!
